Desktop RSS Feeds reader (online/offline). Nice Google Reader alternative.

Feedreader is a freeware desktop based RSS feed reader software for Windows that I think is the nice Google reader alternative. People using Google Reader to read RSS Feeds may find this software very handy.

What I like most is that using FeedReader you can read RSS Feeds offline too !! Just keep the software running, when you are connected to Internet, Feedreader automatically downloads updates from your favourite Web sites. It'll Sync all feeds from sources and then you can read them offline too !!

Fastest Browser on earth -> Opera 9.50 <- You will Go Fida !!

Opera has been my favourite since last 1 year (sorry FireFox 2 !! I don't miss you much !!) and the bonding strengthens when last night I discovered the all new Opera 9.50

Let me tell you my encounters with difference browsers.

I started using IE, it was not love at first sight, well i was a kid then !!! any ways thanks bill uncle for giving us all buggy IE to cope up with all popup (I some time hit a porno web site and with in seconds my Win95 got a restart, just like that.)

When I matured, my taste for browser also matured and i found MyIE2, now called Maxthon. it's been a long affair with that great piece of software, it saved me lot of time, and got me some credit also when I presented my MD of the company to the all new TABBED Browsing !! It was fun !!

Then I saw faster and All new firefox, well it was irresistible and must try. eventually we have been together since firefox 2.x; I left it because I was fed up with slowness and memory it required, I had to kill it after every 30-45 min of browsing. It was painful.

Then came the almighty opera, it was not so smooth ride at first, but it happens to be like that with new gal/bike/browser I suppose !! since then it's been a great joyride with opera.

Firefox 3 created a much hype and blogs and tech pundits are going ga ga over it. But in my opinion opera is the ultimate choice for the best browsing experience.

One has to see it to believe it. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed !!

Cheap or Unlimited STD call rates, Who will win this WAR ? --> We the People !!!

In India, People are happy to see Mobile service provider fighting to get a pie from a large user base by providing new offers every now and then.

Recent addition is call rate tariff cut in Long distance call (STD) to make then Cheapest among other or to just give "Unlimited STD" at not so nominal price. this is how it goes, 

   "Airtel cuts STD rates, sets off price war"

Airtel started this by announcing that it will slash the STD call rates by around 43 % to Rs 1.50 per minute from Rs 2.65 per minute and the roaming charges by 43 % to Re 1 per minute from Rs 1. 75 per minute across all tariff plans with effect from April 30 this year.

They always outsmart others by doing things, others cant think of !!

here is an example.  To address price cut war started by Airtel, Anil has put a trump card that put reliance in win win condition, that's Unlimited STD Calling card !!

Which allows unlimited local and STD calls between Reliance to Reliance mobiles. To avail this scheme, Prepaid customers will have to pay Rs. 496/validity and Postpaid customers will have to pay Rs. 440/month.

Got that !! stupid, 500/- rupees, to avail the unlimited calling. it's not free !! Very Smart..
